Fourteen years ago, animals lived harmonically in Jamaa. Jamaa was a world made up of nine islands, as well as four underwater cities. The most populated place in Jamaa was Jamaa Township, where many animals went to buy clothing and furniture, sell their trinkets, play and hang out.

Other people liked to visit the news stand, where they could look at paintings made by the best artists, including Peck Bunni, the (by far) most popular artist in Jamaa.
Another place many jammers loved to visit was Club Geoz, the dance club. A DJ would play there every night, and jammers would get new friends, eat snacks, and most importantly : dance and have fun!
Many jammers went to the Mira Statue to think sometimes. The Mira Statue was a
beautiful statue of Mira, Jamaa's goddess and protector. Mira protected Jamaa from Zios and made sure that all jammers and phantoms lived without any fear of Zios (or spies) coming to get them.

Our story takes place in one of the nine lands - Appondale, the land made up of the Main Tree (the pet shop), the mud and a few tiny houses where jammers lived (further down the path; they're demolished now). Four friends lived here in Appondale - Felicity, the mischievous lynx, Dakota, the kind hearted cougar, Felix, the cheery goat and Faye, the outgoing sheep. All four lived next to eachother, Felicity and Dakota were best friends (Felix and Faye were also best friends) but together, they were a quartet of fearless friends. They would meet up every day to play in the mud in Appondale, when, one day, Faye had big news.
"Guys, I have bad news." she said, trotting over to her friends. "Mira has announced that she's found out that Zios has six spies here in Jamaa that report to him at the end of every week." a worried look was set on her square face, and even her light green earring looked depressed
"No! That's horrible." Dakota growled. He was usually very calm, but these news were bad. "I can't believe that scum had the guts to even send a single spy here. I bet you it's Greely." he rolled his eyes as he spoke about his frenemy.
Greely lived in the Temple (now Lost Temple of Zios, named after where Zios died), inside the big library about animals. Rumour had it that he studied dark magic in a secret room somewhere in there, but Felicity refused to believe it. "If he does have a secret room, he only sleeps and reads there." she would say. Dakota would snort, thinking she might have a crush on the young wolf.
"What are you talking about, Dakota?" Felicity sighed. "Grel.. I mean, Greely, would never do that. Come on, Dakota. Don't be so hard on him. He gets bullied by Gilbert all the time. He doesn't need another enemy." this softened Dakota's fury a bit.
"Sorry, Fliss. I know he's your friend, but he does get on my nerves." Dakota grinned apologetically.
"Well, I think one of them might be Peck Bunni." Felix suggested. "She's always in that Art Studio of hers in Coral Canyons. Nobody actually knows if she just draws in there!"
Faye nodded. "That could be a possibility. What about Juno? They don't tell much to anyone, only to Star. But.. maybe not. They seem to care about protecting Balloosh from Zios very much." her friends nodded in agreement.

All of a sudden, blue light flashed before their eyes. A grey heron (which Felix thought sounded silly because Mira was actually blue) stood in front of them, her majestic wings spread out. Her eyes were closed, but she opened them a second later, revealing some light blue eyes that could've been mistaken for blindness. She smiled at the quartet's astonished faces, then opened her beak to speak.
"Hello, my brave ones. You already know who I am, but you don't know why I am here." she dipped her head. "I have been watching you four for a while now. You must know that Zios will marry me and he stop the evil. Because I do not trust that he will honour his part of the deal, I'd like you four to become Alphas and help me stop the spies. I am now sure that Zios won't honour the deal, because I am seeing a vision as we speak." she finished her story, leaving the quartet open-mouthed and shocked.
Faye was the first to speak. "Oh, Sky Mother! Do you really mean it?" she cried happily. "We will do whatever it takes to be good Alphas. We will stop Zios and we will try our best to stop the evil ourselves!" she grinned, and the others nodded eagerly.
"And if Zios wants to stay married with you after we stop him..." Felicity grinned. "..you can tell him to take a hint and stay away from Jamaa and you, O Wise One!" a cheeky expression was on her face, making Felicity look like she was up to no good.
"I am glad you are all content to help me." Mira smiled warmly. "Please, call me Mira. And just so you know.. there will be more Alphas to help you on your way soon."
With those words, Mira dissapeared in a bright flash of blue light. The quartet looked at eachother, filled with excitement and a bit of disbelief. A moment later, they all started cheering.
"We will save Jamaa! Heroes on three.. one, two, three.." Felix got his friends into a circle and joined in, their paws (and hooves) touching, and jumped up high in the air.
"HEROES!"
